Rasta Thomas
Rasta Thomas was born in California in 1981. He spent his younger years in Saudi Arabia however soon moved to Washington DC to study at the Kirov Academy of Ballet at age 9.
Rasta Thomas has worked with many of the great ballet companies. Some of them include the Kirov Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet, the K–Ballet in Japan, Lar Lubovitch, Complexions and American Ballet Theater in New York, Universal Ballet of Korea, Alonzo King’s Lines Contemporary Ballet in San Francisco and the Beijing Central Ballet in China.
Ballets Rasta Thomas has performed in include, Don Quixote, Giselle, Swan Lake, Nutcracker, Le Corsaire and La Bayadere; Balanchines’s Agon, Appollo, Tarantella, Serenade, Stars and Stripes, The Prodigal Son, and Four Temperaments; Michael Smuin’s The St Louis Woman and Song for a Dead Warrior; Geoffrey Holder’s Firebird, Sir Frederic Ashton’s Thais. Michael Fokine’s Le Spectre de la Rose and Chopiniana; Lar Lubovitch’s Othello, Little Rhapsody and Elemental Brubeck; Jerome Robbin’s Fancy Free, Ulysses Dove’s Dancing on the Front Porch of Heaven and Red Angels.
In 2007 Mr. Thomas started his own dance company, Bad Boys of Dance. It is an all male company that performs all styles of dance from Ballet to Hip Hop.
